Strasburger Orthopaedics

From accurate diagnosis, to the latest innovations to increase mobility, foster healing and reduce discomfort, Syracuse Area Health’s orthopaedics team is committed to helping our patients return to the quality of life they deserve. The team is led by Scott Strasburger, MD who will treat patients in Syracuse, Lincoln and Nebraska City. Always an innovator, Dr. Strasburger was one of the first physicians in the area to be qualified to use the groundbreaking CORI◊ Robotics-Assisted Surgical System, he also pioneered the use of iovera°, a revolutionary new way to treat knee pain using FDA-approved cold therapy.

Our Orthopaedic Team is Here for You

Our expert team is led by full-time orthopaedic specialist, Dr. Strasburger who is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. He has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years with a focus on sports medicine, specializing in complex shoulder issues, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, shoulder and knee replacements, ACL and all other knee and sports-related injuries.

Well-trained, highly skilled and vastly experienced, the Syracuse Area Health team offers specialized orthopaedic care.

The SAH Rehabilitation Team

Our physical and occupational therapy solutions support our orthopaedics team to help you heal and regain movement, with or without surgery. Offering a wide range of rehabilitation services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy or a combination of any or all—the rehab team at Syracuse Area Health can provide you with the care you need to get back to your life.

Orthopaedic Services

With Dr. Strasburger’s leadership and more than 20 years of combined expertise, our team maintains a holistic approach to care for the body as a complete system, focusing on muscle, bone, joint and tendon injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, knee, hip, foot, and ankle.

Starting with the most conservative methods to restore mobility and healing, our comprehensive offerings consist of everything from complex surgeries, such as the already mentioned complete knee replacement, to non-surgical, minimally invasive solutions, sports medicine treatments and other therapeutic options.

However, if surgery is in your future, rest assured knowing our team uses leading edge technological options, aiding in faster healing and resulting in less pain during recovery. As mentioned, one of these advanced options is the CORI Robotics Assisted Surgical System, which is a system that can be used for total and partial knee replacement. When a highly-skilled surgeon uses this system, patients can rest assured they’re getting the ultimate knee replacement experience.

In addition to using robotics assisted surgical technology, our team offers iovera°, a cryotherapy approach to pain management that targets the nerves responsible for sending pain signals to the brain. We also offer regenerative platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to help promote faster wound healing and effective pain relief.
