What Sets Syracuse Area Health Apart
Outstanding Patient Care
Nationally recognized by Press Ganey, Syracuse Area Health has remained in the 90th percentile and above for patient satisfaction over the past six months, which is a superior rating. These results, collected monthly through unbiased patient surveys, reflect our commitment to a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care.
A Culture of Collaboration
Our trauma response is a team effort. Whether it’s during a regular shift or reporting outside of scheduled hours at times, our team members answer the call—day or night. This level of dedication and teamwork is a powerful expression of our shared mission to serve.
Innovation in Action
Our 24/7 Advanced Practice Providers and in-house emergency care team deliver fast, expert trauma care at a moment’s notice. Syracuse Area Health also standardized telemedicine support in our on-site trauma bay, known as Avel eCare. This gives our team access to medical doctors, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and behavioral health professionals at the push of a button, ensuring each patient receives expert care when seconds count.
Director of Nursing Dotti Easter, RN, along with Trauma Nurse Coordinator Britnie Hoyle, RN, and Nurse Educator Doug Krieger, RN, have implemented monthly in-person competency testing for nursing staff. Utilizing immersive virtual reality training, staff practice complex trauma scenarios in a safe, simulated environment, reinforcing critical decision-making skills, procedural accuracy, and team coordination.
Community Education & Outreach
Syracuse Area Health is committed to empowering our neighbors with safety knowledge. With support from the Syracuse Area Health Foundation, our trauma team has distributed over 100 bike helmets to local youth, provided car seats through the Emergency Department, and led fall prevention education initiatives. These outreach efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to injury prevention and public safety.
Setting the Standard in Rural Trauma Care
Our care model blends technology with heart, combining clinical expertise and virtual support to save lives and set new standards in rural health innovation. This award is more than a recognition; It’s a celebration of the trauma team’s passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to service. By working together and making the most of our resources, we strive for excellence, shift after shift, for each patient we serve.
