Syracuse Area Health (SAH) is proud to announce that Lisa Voorhees, who has been serving as Interim CEO, has officially been named Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2025.
Voorhees has dedicated 25 years of service to Syracuse Area Health, guiding the organization through growth, innovation, and transformation. Her career has included leadership in major projects such as constructing the new hospital, opening the North Campus Family Medicine Clinic and Retail Pharmacy, acquiring Strasburger Orthopaedics, and most recently launching Sagewell Orthopaedics and Sagewell Urgent Care.
“For more than 25 years, Lisa has led with dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to our community,” said Will Wittler, Chair of the Syracuse Area Health District Board of Directors. “We are excited for the future of Syracuse Area Health with Lisa at the helm.”
“Our success is the direct result of the dedication and passion of the Syracuse Area Health team,” said Voorhees. “Together, we remain committed to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care and building healthy communities for the future.”
Reflecting on her journey, Voorhees added:
“It’s been amazing to see the organization continue to thrive. Most importantly, it’s the relationships I’ve built with wonderful co-workers who have been with me every step of the way. Working in a community that you grew up in is something special when you know you are caring for your neighbors, family, and friends. I am proud that we have continued to keep the patient-focused mission as the organization continues to grow.”
