Syracuse Area Health is proudly commemorating its five-year anniversary. This milestone is a testament to the remarkable journey of transformation undertaken by SAH since it rebranded from Community Memorial Hospital and opened a new medical campus – under the name Syracuse Area Health – in November 2018.
From a staff of 146 five years ago to an impressive 204 today, SAH has seen exceptional growth, and at the heart of this success is the dedicated team that has tirelessly served the Syracuse community. Mike Harvey, SAH President and CEO, recently reflected on this achievement.
“The past five years have been a journey of growth and triumph. Our outstanding team of professionals has been the driving force behind our success, and I am immensely proud of our collective accomplishments,” said Harvey.
SAH has recently garnered multiple prestigious awards. The 2023 Performance Leadership Award stands as a testament to SAH’s top-tier performance in both quality and patient perspective, showcasing the organization’s steadfast dedication to delivering exceptional healthcare.
Additionally, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has granted SAH with the 2023 Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award. This recognition positions SAH among the top performers in quality within Nebraska’s Critical Access Hospitals, further validating the organization’s ongoing commitment to outstanding healthcare services.
Reflecting on the past five years, SAH has been consistently recognized for its commitment to quality care, earning:
- The Top 20 Award from the National Rural Health Association for Patient Satisfaction in 2022 and 2023.
- The Performance Leadership Award in 2019, 2022 and 2023 for top-quartile performance in quality.
- The Performance Leadership Award in 2022 and 2023 for top-quartile performance in patient perspective.
- The Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award in 2022 and in 2023 for Top 10 performance in quality among all Nebraska Critical Access Hospitals.
