Syracuse Area Health is pleased to announce the expansion of its behavioral health services with the addition of psychiatric care provided by Heather Noerrlinger, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-C. Heather will transition from Family Medicine within the organization into a dedicated Behavioral Health role as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner beginning July 15, 2026.
“Heather has been a valued member of the Syracuse Area Health care team,” shared Lisa Voorhees, CEO. “In her new role, she will focus on supporting patients’ mental and emotional well-being through comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and ongoing behavioral health care. We’re proud that Heather chose to continue her career with Syracuse Area Health and offer her expertise locally.”
“As a PMHNP, it is rewarding to build a therapeutic relationship founded on trust, empathy, and nonjudgmental care,” said Noerrlinger. “Many patients feel unheard or stigmatized before seeking treatment, so providing a safe environment where they feel validated and supported can make a profound difference. Mental health conditions often affect every area of a person’s functioning, including relationships, work, self-esteem, and overall sense of hope. My goal is to foster healing, resilience, and hope while making meaningful human connections daily.”
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Heather is qualified to diagnose mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, manage complex psychiatric conditions, and prescribe and manage psychiatric medications. Her services will complement those offered by Nicole Maher, LIMHP, LADC, who provides therapy, counseling, behavioral health treatment, and substance use counseling services.
Together, Heather and Nicole will offer a comprehensive behavioral health program designed to meet a wide range of patient needs. Patients who are unsure which provider best fits their needs are encouraged to contact their primary care provider (PCP) for guidance.
Heather will provide behavioral health services at Syracuse Area Health and Sagewell locations across Southeast Nebraska, offering patients convenient access to psychiatric care integrated directly within their local family medicine clinic. Heather’s final day seeing Family Medicine patients full-time at the North Clinic in Weeping Water will be July 10, and patients have the option to transition to Dr. Brett Copley at that time or another Syracuse Area Health provider of their choosing.
This expansion reflects Syracuse Area Health’s continued commitment to increasing access to behavioral health services and supporting the whole person—mind and body—close to home.
